Olivia Fernandez was born in Bordeaux, France and studied Economics and Finance at the University of Paris Dauphine. After graduating she moved to Hong Kong where she lived for nine years and Tokyo for one year. In 2015, she quit her job in finance to pursue photography and moved to New York where she started photographing nightlife and rave parties in Brooklyn. She studied in the general studies program at the International Center of Photography in 2016 and worked on two projects: Alone, in silence, a project about loss and solitude and Tell me your story, a series of portraits taken in the intimacy of a bedroom or hotel room. Olivia’s photo from Alone, in silence received an honorary mention from The Life Framer Award. She is now enrolled in the documentary and visual-journalism program at the International Center of Photography in New York.
